Intensive Trauma/Permanence Specialist
Anu Family Services, an innovative non-profit child and family service agency, is seeking a direct-practice social worker with excellent clinical skills to work in the Intensive Permanence Services program. The position provides on-site efforts to heal relational trauma to children and adults in various home settings. This a part-time position, with the possibility of increasing hours to full-time, which provides a flexible schedule with some evening hours, a home-office base, and opportunities for professional development.
The position will provide in-home/community-based services for clients in the Fox Valley. Responsibilities will include assisting the client to work through the trauma that has happened to them to help them understand how this has impacted who they are today. The focus is to clarify these life events to work on moving forward into a more positive, healthy future, full of healthy supports and connections. Additional qualifications also include: excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships, significant computer skills, attention to detail, and the drive and passion to help clients find lifelong connections, while addressing grief, loss and trauma.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree with child welfare experience and WI Social Work Certification. A Master's Degree is preferred and prior experience in child welfare or counseling is a plus. Paid training will be provided to qualified candidates via an online Parenting Coach Certification course. Parent Coaches employ Present Moment Parenting, helping parents focus on the whole child in the present, rather than on “modifying the behavior”. Parent coaching is a strengths-based intervention that provides biological, foster, adoptive and kinship parents with hands-on, here-and-now tools for bringing about rapid, dramatic improvements in the relationship with their child, and as a result, in the child’s behavior.

Bachelors required, Masters preferred. Candidates will have a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, psychology, school or educational psychology, rehabilitation psychology, counseling and guidance, counseling psychology or social work, plus significant experience in child welfare or other child-related field. Preferred candidates have experience working with bio, kinship or foster parents whose children have experienced trauma. A valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation are required for this position.
