Foster Care Social Worker

Unleash your potential! Anu Family Services, an innovative non-profit child and family service agency, is seeking a Treatment Foster Care Social Worker to serve foster youth and their treatment foster families. This position is a .75-1.0 FTE position with benefits package and a competitive salary. Responsibilities include supervision and support of new and existing treatment foster families, case management, foster parent recruitment, and licensing. Parent Coach

Job description

Parenting is hard. Studies show that a child’s resilience increases if they have at least one supportive and caring adult in their life. It’s truths like those that make us passionate about providing Parent Coaching to clients at Anu Family Services. Anu’s Parent Coaches guide caregivers toward increasing their confidence in their parenting skills while also increasing the loving connection between them and their children. Anu is searching for individuals passionate about helping families thrive to join the Parent Coaching team. Paid training will be provided to qualified candidates via an online Parenting Coach Certification course. Parent Coaches employ Present Moment Parenting, helping parents focus on the whole child in the present rather than on “modifying the behavior.” Parent coaching is a strengths-based intervention that provides biological, foster, adoptive, and kinship parents with hands-on, here-and-now tools for bringing about rapid, dramatic improvements in the relationship with their child, resulting in improvement in the child’s behavior.

Job Requirements:
Candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, human services, or related field, plus significant experience in child welfare or another child-related field. Trauma/Attachment Therapist and Resiliency Specialist

Anu is a private non-profit family services agency, and we are seeking a Trauma/Attachment Therapist and/or a Resiliency Specialist.  This position can be part-time or full-time and provides a flexible schedule with some evening hours, a home-office base, and opportunities for professional development. A full benefits package is available to full-time employees. Clinical Supervision is provided at no cost.

The Trauma/Attachment Therapist and Resiliency Specialist positions are similar in many ways.  Both will provide in-home, community-based, and/or telehealth services for youth and adult clients involved in CCS and/or CPS programming. Responsibilities will include forming trusting relationships with clients, and facilitating their growth to improve their lives despite having experienced trauma and/or attachment disruptions.  However, the Resiliency Specialist is a not a therapist, and therefore will focus on assessing for areas that lack resiliency, and then assist the client to build those areas using evidence-informed research and practice.  The Trauma/Attachment Therapist on the other hand will be a clinical position, one that will be help the client to assess, and then process how their trauma and attachment experiences continue to impact their lives in the present, through use of an evidence-based practice.  The right candidate may start as a Resiliency Specialist, and then move into the position of Trauma/Attachment Therapist.  Both positions require that the ideal candidate will have excellent self-awareness, excellent communication skills, a strong ability to build relationships, significant computer skills, attention to detail, and the drive and passion to patiently and creatively help clients heal from the effects of trauma, even while understanding that those effects may make the client push away the very people who want to help the most.
