Anu Family Services Adds New "Parent Coaching" Services

Our PARENT COACHING SERVICE NOW AVAILABLE is a short-term intervention that provides foster, adoptive and kinship parents and other caregivers with hands-on, here-and-now tools for bringing about rapid and dramatic improvement in their child’s behavior. Using a strategy customized to each individual family, coaches work with caregivers, in the absence of the child, to teach methods and tools that promote attachment and self-esteem while feeding the development of even more positive behaviors. Caregivers are able to strengthen bonds while teaching children new and effective ways of interacting with their world.  See the Press Release

seeking a full time Intensive Permanence/Foster Care Permanence Specialist in the Twin Cities

Anu Family Services - Minnesota is seeking a full time Intensive Permanence/Foster Care Permanence Specialist in the Twin Cities area for a new program to work with adolescents in out-of-home care with the goal of increasing the number and strength of relationships they have with caring adults. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of related experience in foster care, adoptions and/or family based services.. ... Qualifications include: excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to build relationships, high level of computer competency in Windows environment required and familiarity with search engines and search technology, sensitivity and competency in relating to individuals and groups of diverse cultural backgrounds, attention to detail, with a drive and passion to help kids find permanent connections. Candidate must also be fluent in Spanish. MSW or equivalent degree preferred. Must have MN driver’s license and reliable transportation. Competitive salary and benefits. Governor's Award Goes To Another Anu Family

Congratulations to Bill and Tammy J. who also received this years Foster Care award from the Governor. Bill and Tammy have been fostering a sibling set of three children and have  been an amazing resource to those children as well as their first placement who had medical needs and was only placed with them for a short time. Their love, committment and generosity is truly amazing. Congratulations to a deserving family.
